From 1896 to 1930. Edward S. Curtis created an invaluable photographic and written record of every major Indian Tribe West of the Mississippi. This Blanket, a tribute to the man, is inspired by a design captured in one of Curtis's photos. The Hidatsa Earth blanket features a triangular step pattern in the center-Known as the mountain design -along with geometric patterns spanning the blanket that represent wheat, grass and seed.
